The Traditional AGA Cooker

The traditional AGA is the vintage style AGA built in 1941-1956 which we are proud to offer fully restored to its former glory. The Traditional can be identified by its flat top & enamelled dome lids, the AGA script badge is cast into the front of the cooker, it has a small ash-pit door and an air intake control lever on the front.

Traditional AGAs were built for the purpose of burning solid fuel & wood but many have now been converted to other fuel types.
The Deluxe AGA

The AGA Deluxe was launched in 1956 and has changed very little since its introduction. Its main design change occurred in 1974 which is why we distinguish between the pre and post-74 deluxe models.
Pre-74 Deluxe
The Pre-74 was manufactured in 1956-1974 and can easily be identified by its 6” deep shelf on the top of the cooker, behind the lids. The 4 oven pre-74 has a one-piece top because the shelf at the back of the cooker was able to keep the large top piece of the AGA straight during the cooling of the iron after it was cast and during enamelling. The Pre-74 AGA is 10% heavier than the post-74 deluxe.

Post-74 Deluxe
The post-74 AGA has been manufactured since 1974 and very little has changed on an AGA from this date other than small aesthetic details such as the door catches. The post-74 can be identified by its stand-up lip at the back of the cooker, behind the lids.
