A new generation of oil-fired Rayburn cookers were introduced in the autumn of 2009 known as the 600 series, incorporating a number of important, new features.
The cooker is also built to a increased width at 995mm suitable for a standard work unit 1 metre recess. The working height matches with standard kitchen worktops at 910mm.
The thermostat controls and integral cooking programmer were located at the front top of the cooker, behind a fourth door.
A fully electronic control centre located in the base of the cooker supervises temperature control in conjunction with thermocouples, rather than using traditional electromechanical thermostats
There is also a choice of three boiler outputs, viz. 17.6, 23.4, 29.3kW (60,000 -100,000 Btu/hr), using a fabricated mild steel boiler. The boiler was suitable for connection to a wide range of fully-pumped, modern central heating systems, including under-floor heating, sealed & un-vented systems. Access for boiler
flueway cleaning is through a front access door.
For the central-heating models there are twin Ecoflam burners operating independently one providing the heat for the cooking operations, the other for the boiler requirements delivering domestic hot-water & heating.
These models have a 125mm (5") diameter, conventional flue/chimney system.
